Chris Cox, DO

Dr. Chris Cox has spent nearly his entire life here on the South Shore. He is a second-generation pediatrician whose father practiced locally for over 40 years. He has been surrounded by medical professionals for much of his life, including his physician uncle who trained in Boston and lived with his family when Chris was a child, and his sister who is a PhD Nurse Practitioner in San Francisco, CA. However, the person who inspired him more than any other was his mom. While not a physician, she was the most selfless person he ever knew, and being witness to her unselfishness on a daily basis, was in large part the spark that led Chris to want to help people and eventually to become a pediatrician.

Dr. Cox completed his undergraduate degree at Villanova University followed by medical school in Maine at UNECOM, where he met his wife of 20+ years, and then residency at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He is Board Certified in General Pediatrics.

Dr. Cox is a Dad to three wonderful children, and is and always will be a lover of everything Boston sports, but especially the Boston Bruins. As he writes this he is still in disbelief that this past season ended the way it did and that the upcoming year will not include the one and only Patrice Bergeron.

Dr. Cox is an avid golfer and will forever thank his father for introducing him to the game, and his son for continuing to play with him. Chris absolutely believes in what the late John F Kennedy stated, that “Children are the world’s most valuable resource, and its best hope for the future,” so he’s pretty sure he has found his calling in doing whatever little part he can to help.
