Nicole MacDonald, LICSW

Nicole MacDonald is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, who has spent her career of over 24 years, helping children and families with their mental health needs.  Nicole received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State College and her graduate degree in Social Work from San Diego State University.


Nicole has worked in various settings including the local schools, out-patient mental health agencies, and South Shore Hospital.  She spent several years working in the local public schools as a school social worker, where she assessed, counseled, advocated, and referred children to the resources they needed. She also taught social skills classes and conducted trainings with teachers/parents on the issues of bullying and suicide prevention. Nicole has extensive experience in conducting individual and family therapy with children experiencing multiple issues including anxiety, mood disorders/ depression, ADHD, attachment and concerns around trauma. She has helped families cope with life changes and stressors, such as divorce, adoption, substance abuse, and medical issues. Nicole utilizes an individualized, strength-based approach in helping children and families grow and learn.


Nicole has enjoyed living on the South Shore of MA for most of her life. She currently lives there with her husband and five daughters. She also has two adult step-children who live nearby and a black lab-mix rescue dog. Some of her favorite things to do include visiting one of the local beaches or hiking with her children and pup!
