Susan Martin, MD
Dr. Martin is a Board-Certified Pediatrician who grew up on the South Shore and considers it a privilege to care for those in her own community. Initially employed in the investment field, Dr. Martin was inspired to pursue a career in medicine while on a service trip to Appalachia. This led to further volunteer work in Latin America and work for a Boston-based organization serving the indigenous population of Ecuador.
Dr. Martin completed her Medical Degree and Masters in Public Health at Tufts University School of Medicine, where she was an Albert Schweitzer fellow, creating a parenting program for women living with their children in a transitional shelter in East Boston. She completed her training at Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center’s Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics, while raising her two children. Dr. Martin’s philosophy is to provide exceptional evidence-based medical care to her patients, from birth to young adulthood with compassion and in partnership with their families.
Dr. Martin is thrilled to be reuniting with her former colleagues here at Beacon Pediatrics. Outside of work, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with family and in nature, hiking, kayaking and ballroom dancing.
